Treatment: Lamivudine (3TC)
Lamivudine (3TC) is a nucleoside analogues which is a very potent and specific inhibitor of HBV DNA synthesis. However, in most cases, HBV DNA reappears once treatment is terminated.

There is some current evidence supporting the use of lamivudine in tandem with interferon treatment. However, these studies are ongoing and the success rates of the use of lamivudine alone compared to its success rates when used with interferon are still being studied.
